Was the Forbidden City in China really forbidden?

Watch the film, The Last Emperor. This would help you. The Forbidden City, houses all the Imperial Court Members, Empress and the Concubines, Eunuchs. The Forbidden City’s construction by the Ming Dynasty almost cripple the entire kingdom. Allot of farmers are forced to work for its construction and it have become too expensive for the budget to bear. History Channel have a show about Forbidden Kingdom, try to look for it too. The expense was too big that people started to revolt because they have no money to spend nor food to eat at that time. The Emperor at that time is not Chinese but Manchurian which also a factor for locals to hate the ruling class. Google on the subject you will hit better results.

Well, I went to visit to Forbidden City last year. It was forbidden to the towns people, unless you had permission from the emporer to go in. Only the emporers and wives were in there. So basically yes it was forbidden. Sorry I don’t remember much more. It was last year.
