Was the Dunnes Stores building in High street belfast ever a theatre?

0

The Dunnes Stores in Belfast was founded in 1971 the first time it appeared in Belfast city centre. Prior to that it was a Burtons and then a Woolworths store which closed down and Dunnes then took over this site. The Corn Market has always made up part of this site. In the late 18th century people were hung on the site where Dunnes now stands. Unfortunately I can’t find any history of it being a theatre but it may have provided the area where people went to see hangings which might be construed as being a type of ‘theatre’.
