Was the dropping of the Hiroshima Bomb justified?
Yes, I think the US was justified in dropping the A-bomb on Hiroshima. The second one was dropped on Nagasaki because they refused to surrender after the 1st. The Allied nations wanted unconditional surrender of the Axis, but Japan refused. In truth, the Allies did not want to invade Japan because the number of men KIA would of been huge. The death toll on the Japanese side would have been enormous.The Japanese soldiers were tough and would fight to the death and did not surrender. The Allies took this into account and also thought that the Japanese citizens would fight the Allies with the same type of mentality the soldiers fought with. In short, this was probably the only way that Japan would surrender Also, this was a power move to show the USSR (& other counties) how strong the US was at that time.
