Veterinary representatives were part of a Task Force established by the University of Nebraska Vice President of Agriculture and Natural Resources/Harlan Vice Chancellor of IANR to re-evaluate the UNL Cooperative Program in Veterinary Medical Education with KSU. The Task Force was composed of veterinarians, an undergraduate student, a graduate student, representatives of Nebraska Cattlemen, Farm Bureau, Legislative Fiscal Office, Governors Budget Office, the GPVEC, the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences, and representatives of UNL administration. This re-evaluation became necessary when UNL no longer could meet its contractual obligations to KSU because the state appropriation for a veterinary student contract was lowered from approximately $1.8 million to $1.4 million during the budget cuts imposed upon UNL by the state during Nebraskas budget crisis. The KSU contract cost now has grown to approximately $1.9 million, but the $1.4 million Legislative appropriation remains
