Missing Chula Vista boy returned to family safely CHULA VISTA (CNS) – A 10-year-old boy who was missing since Friday morning was found and returned to his family safely today, according to Chula Vista police. Troy Richmond Jr. was located this morning at the home of family friend who acts as a big brother figure to the boy, said Chula Vista police Lt. Scott Arsenault. The whole situation was a miscommunication between the boy’s mother, her boyfriend and another family friend, Byron Keith Johnson, who also acts as a mentor to Troy, Arsenault said. Johnson was with the boy since he was noticed to be missing around 11 a.m. Friday. Johnson and Troy spent the night at the home of another family friend who also has a mentor-type relationship with the child, according to Arsenault. “Byron didn’t do anything wrong other than not communicating very well with the family where he was going to be, ” Arsenault said.
