Was the Boehner, GOP ews conference designed to interrupt Obamas Town Hall Meeting?
Barack Obama held a worldwide Online Town Hall meeting earlier today. It was streamed live on the internet. There was TV cable news coverage of the event until GOP leaders led by John Boehner notified major news outlets that he and his fellow Republicans would be announcing their alternative budget strategy. Today the GOP promised to reveal all the details during an important news conference that coincidentally came right in the middle of the President’s world wide Online Town Hall meeting. Major news outlets like MSNBC pre-empted their coverage of Obama’s Town Hall meeting in favor of the GOP’s big announcement. The big announcement turned out to be only a promise of an alternative budget strategy in the future. The GOP stars did touch on the usual conservative GOP mantra about lowering taxes (read: give more money to the rich).
