The biggest problem humans present to the planet is the sheer increase in our numbers. The staggering rate at which we’ve multiplied and the rate at which we waste valuable resources is alarming. A point will be reached, in the very near future, when economies will begin to collapse resulting in an implosion of the current infrastructure we take for granted. The Earth will recover relatively quickly from this massive change and mankind will also survive. What is at stake though is the type of existence we all take for granted now. The population of Britain pre-industrial era (1600) was around 4 Million rising to 40 million in 1901. With a current population of over 60 million, Britain, like many Western nations is almost totally dependent on imports. A collapse of the current trade/transport infrastructure would obviously be disastrous to our way of life. So, nuclear wars aside, I don’t think the planet is in danger of being completely destroyed, it is humankind’s current type of exist
