Was the Author of the Fourth Gospel Jesuss Beloved Disciple John?
The most obvious, yet still tantalizingly cryptic, internal evidence for a writer of a New Testament gospel comes in the fourth gospel. In several passages near the end of the gospel, the text refers to someone as “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” The last reference to this Beloved Disciple ends the fourth gospel.
