40% tax rate is what pushed rebels into the Boston Tea Party. The middle class tax payer has been holding the entire tax burden. Middle class citizens must live on credit, because after all of their tax obligations, there is nothing to live on. The wealthy pitch and moan when they have to pay a fair share. What makes me so mad about that is that it does not even affect their standard of living.
