Was the 1947 partition of India inevitable or a devious design of imperialism ?
Good question. It seems to me the British had no reason to stir up crisis in India with independence. It would serve no purpose for them. What they wanted was to free India as quickly and peacefully as possible. But after centuries of suppressing religious and ethnic differences it was no wonder they came to the forefront in 1947 leading to the HinduMoslem clashes.
