Was that a good way to kill time on a road trip?
I guess I was the first French person she met, so she wanted to learn some things. Q: She’s from California? A: San Diego. Q: Yeah, not too many French people down there, I guess. You actually tutor on campus though, right? A: I do. I tutored Valerie (Espinosa) who was my teammate, too, but she was actually taking French classes. Q: I guess if you can make a couple dollars doing it, why not, right? A: Exactly. Q: But not too much need for a Vietnamese tutor on campus, right? A: No, but I don’t speak very much Vietnamese, anyway. I speak a little bit, but my English is better than my Vietnamese. And I don’t know how to write or read Vietnamese either. Q: How do you manage to stay fluent in French living out here? Southeast Idaho is not exactly a mecca for French people in America. A: Well, I watch French shows online, and I read news every day online. I speak with my friends on the phone every weekend, but it is kind of hard.
