Was Sophocles the first person to write geek tragedy?
Hey–I don’t think any of us know if you’re playing around, or if you just misspelled Greek! I believe it was Judd Apatow who invented the geek tragedy/comedy . . . Seriously though–the Greeks were writing and attending plays for a very long time before Sophocles. However, Sohpocles is one of the 3 authors considered the greatest playwrights of golden age Greece, along with Aeschylus and Euripides. But Aeschylus was the first of these, not Sophocles.
