Was SlumDog Millionaire Helped by the Credit Crunch?
Slumdog Millionaire who won four golden globes and then went on to wipe the floor at the Oscars has been a huge movie in Britain and over seas, it has also been both celebrated by the critics and box office. The story basically evolves around a young boy who appears on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, it starts with a title card saying Jamal Malik is one question away from winning 20 Million Rupees. The show then gets scheduled for the next day, but police accuse the uneducated boy that was brought up in the slums of cheating, this then kicks into the full storyline of how his life experiences guided him to the answers. The movie itself though was almost going to be released straight to DVD after the initial company that were set to release it closed down. But that leads to the question of was the film helped by the current economic situation? Whether this film was planned to be released at this current time or not it was in fact an excellent decision by the company
