No. This is a misconception started with assumptions made by fans. The use of the name “Simon McKay” in this episode of Baywatch was only part of a tribute Michael Berk & Douglas Schwartz created for David Rappaport. Although one character is the namesake of the other, this is the only thing they have in common. “Shorsighted” was never, ever, ever meant to be a recasting or reappearance of “The Wizard”. Until 2007, Michael Berk & Douglas Schwartz were not even aware that “The Wizard” still had a following.
