McGuire has admitted using Androstenedione but not Steroids. However, his refusal to answer questions makes him look guilty of being a user. Sosa also refused to answer questions before Congress, and even brought an interpreter. Note that the steroid thing started in Oakland, spread to Texas via Canseco (where Sosa and Palmeiro got in), then to Baltimore via Palmeiro. It spread from Oakland to NY via Jason Giambi. I think the only sluggers to reach 500 homers from the past decade who didn’t use steroids were (maybe) Manny Ramirez, Frank Thomas, Jim Thome, and Ken Griffey, Jr (just my personal opinion). Anyone who got injured the year the league started testing is a likely user, since their body had withdrawals.
