Roy Orbison had myopia (eye disease) from the time he was young and had to wear thick glasses. When he got into the entertainment business he had thick corrective lenses. Roy Orbison wore the dark glasses as a stage imagine. His son does wear glasses, but there is no mention that he has myopia.
