Was Powersets technology heavily utilized in building Bing?

I don’t have first hand information about Bing since I had left Powerset by then. From what I understand, Bing at launch had a “reference vertical” which was powered by Powerset. This mainly dealt with the kinds of queries that would be best answered by Wikipedia (factoid queries, queries where a user wants to browse/explore to research a subject etc). Powerset had built a semantic index of Wikipedia by doing a deep parse & semantic analysis of the Wikipedia corpus. Bing allowed users to navigate a re-published Wikipedia whenever users clicked through to a wikipedia result. Searching this version of Wikipedia employed Powerset technology (for ranking, indexing, highlighting, navigating via a document summary on the right etc). I don’t see the Reference vertical listed in the Bing navigation panel now. But am fairly certain Bing Wikipedia (http://www.bing.com/reference/?F…) is powered by Powerset technology. Bing reference might have been renamed to Bing Wikipedia. From what I gather
