Was poor regulation of the internet from the beginning one of the biggest technological mistakes in history?
The same argument could be used for almost any new technology. e.g. – medical microbiology spawned the manufacturing of biological weapons. With any kind of freedom there will always be a small minority that will use it for criminal gains.
