Was Peter Furler always the lead singer for The Newsboys after they left Huey Lewis?
Peter became a Christian at the age of 17. In 1986, he founded the band Newsboys with George Perdikis. He was originally the band’s drummer, rapper, and background vocalist but eventually became the lead vocalist and one of the guitarists. (He was also the auto mechanic for the “Refrigerator,” the Newsboys’ first touring bus.) His first concert was at his sister Julie’s sixteenth birthday. He has written most of the Newsboys’ songs. The Newsboys frequently collaborate with Steve Taylor, so there are many times where Steve writes the songs and Peter comes up with the music.
