Was New Coke a conspiracy to switch from sugar to corn syrup?

Kevisaurus is a Carnotaurus today Jul 26th, 2007 I just looked at a two liter container of Classic Coke and it does not contain any sugar. As we all know that corn syrup is cheaper to manufacture than cane sugar so it makes sense to switch over to this. It doesn’t taste the same as I recalled it to taste like when I was a child, many moons ago. Perhaps they made new coke taste so undesirable that customers would overlook the fact that they may have restored the original taste but altered the sweetener ingredient in a brilliant twist of guerrilla marketing.
