Was my credit checked in order to issue me the new Citi® Smart Pay 2 card?
If you have an existing Smart Pay 1 card account, your credit bureau report was not accessed. As an existing Smart Pay 1 cardholder, Citi® simply replaced the card to insure there would be no interruption in your ability to make purchases. Credit checks only apply to certain government agencies and only for new applications submitted directly to Citi®.
