I don’t know specifics about the NT, but there are many, many correlations and similarities between the events of the Bible and the events of Zoroastrianism and other Mesopotamian ideologies. Besides Mithra, there’s Giglamesh, the creation story, there’s a flood story, a baby in the river-Moses type story, and on and on. Monotheism came to the Bible from Zoroastrianism, as did a fair and balanced legal system, similar to that in the US today. Mithra could have influenced the Bible, as Roman soldiers often belonged to a cult of Mithra, calling on him to lead them in battle, which was long after Zoroastrianism but during the time of Jesus.
