That rumor came at the time of release of the song when it seemed like Robbie had made it about Mel. Afterwards, Melanie said that the tattoo was in honour to her grandparents who had died from cancer. They are angels to her just like she sings on “Angel On My Shoulder”, a song dedicated to them.
