A wedding ring lost on a visit to Caernarfon Castle has been found in time for its owner’s 35th wedding anniversary. American Carl Mondy lost the ring when it was flipped off his finger as he tried to save his hat on a windy day at the castle last August. It remained hidden until an Australian visitor to Caernarfon, Kelly Webb, spotted it. Mr Mondy, and his wife Judy, said they were delighted by the discovery. Kelly Webb who found the ring said she spotted it at the top of a tower standing out against the dark grey stones, whilst she was on the visit to the Cadw-owned ancient monument. Custodians “When I saw the ring and picked it up I mentioned that someone was in trouble with the wife,” she said. “However it’s nice to know that the ring is safe and sound back where it belongs.” Ms Webb said she had spoken to the couple since and it was lovely to hear about the adventure the ring had been on.
