Was Joseph Smith a virtuous man?
Yes, Joseph was a virtuous man. But, he was human and limited by human error. As for that story, it’s very easy to condemn the Church for upholding its rule for what is proper for its property. Just as somebody decided that the Church would be the perfect patsy to blame and condemn for the passing of Prop 8. And, everyone else jumped on the bandwagon and yelled bigots and accused the Church of barring gay rights, even though the Church did not. But, some trumped up so-called statistics and viola, you have proof. Now, you have received some answers that have told you the truth, but you will most likely pick one of the answers whose lies agree with your pre-conceived notion of what you think is true.
