Was Jimi Hendrix buried with his guitar or was that just a myth?
This just shows you how widespread this myth is. Remember that Jimi had several guitars and a lot of equipment. Most of the guitars and other equipment were left to Chas Chandler (Jimi’s manager) A few of the guitars were left to his family and were not buried with him. There are literally hundreds of claims that someone has the “original” Hendrix strat but they are all fakes. Most of the real “Hendrix” strats have been sold to collectors. For many years the Hendrix estate had to fight to retain any of the rights to his royalties. There is still much arbitration over various aspects of the estate.
