Was Jesus Pro or Con Capital Punishment?
Hello, Cat: The entire Bible is pro capital punishment. However, God prolonged Cain’s life because the Universe would not have understood the effect of being soft on sin–it magnified and corrupted the world. Likewise, Jesus spoke many times for God’s judgments, saying it would be easier for Sodom and Gomorrah than for the Jews that rejected Him. Please note that it is God, or His governments that execute his judgments. We, as individuals, are not to retaliate. And let us not forget the judgments against the one who killed James with the sword: Herod Agrippa was consumed by worms for accepting praise only due God. When the liers, Ananias & Saphira lied to the Holy Spirit, they were smitten in church service–and the church grew. Yes, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when God’s final judgment is manifest. A Bible code gives the timing of the Cosmic Conflict, and tells when this is going to happen.
