Was Jesus Christ Superstar drug influenced?
This film was not put out by evangelicals. Most evangelicals took huge issue with this production. Tim Rice said that He does not believe Jesus Christ is God. Many, many people found it deeply flawed – I am one of them. The movie of course, leaves Jesus Christ hanging on the cross – making no effort to portray His burial, resurrection or ascension. (And that’s just a couple of the countless problems.) The more recent stage show tries to correct that. I was 12 years old when the movie came out; 16 years before I was redeemed by Christ. I have seen the stage production a half dozen times – most recently 10 days or so ago. I go (every single time) to accompany a non Christian relative that likes the show very, very much. NOTE: That means that I can attend something that I find quite a deal of fault with in light of the bigger picture of making myself available to address any questions that may arise.
