James Madison 1751- 1836 was born in King George county, Virginia USA but was of Welsh descent. He became the fourth president of the USA. He studied law at Princetown College, New Jersey. He was elected a member of the General Congress of the Assembly of Virginia in 1779. At this time he was one of the most prominent men in the history of the Republic. He debated the American constitution. He was appointed Secretary of State by Jefferson in 1801. He was elected President of the USA in 1809. He wrote widely on the American Constitution and is regarded second only to Harrison in this area.He was a very highly regarded member of Congress and was also highly regarded as a logician.
