Was it right for Uganda to host President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad whom the West considers adversary?
Musumba: First of all, the fact that President Ahmadinejad chose to come to Uganda and we accepted to host him is in itself a major achievement for the world. It demonstrates that the world will not prejudge anybody until their matter has been properly analysed and fairly decided. Accusations have been labelled against Mr Ahmadinejad that he is enriching uranium for purposes of nuclear armaments and to be used in a manner that threatens international peace. He, on the other hand, has said Iran has nuclear facilities, but they are intended to be used for peaceful purposes like generation of electricity. Now it is a case of accusation of one against the other. As Uganda, because we are interested in monitoring and ensuring that there is peace and justice, we are persuaded that both sides must be heard and the matter is fully understood before we can adjudicate on it.
