No . . . it was still a time that parents sent their daughter away if they got pregnant to live with an out of town family member during those 9 months. Daughters were also sent away to all girls colleges so someone choosing to live with someone of the opposite sex outside of marriage would have made them not only the talk of the town but a social outcast.
