This is a good question. I was diagnosed for over 10 years with bipolar and I actually had tumors in my thyroid that caused my mood swings and depression and manic episodes. It also depends on your age. If you are young some of this may be normal growing issues that many others go through that are hard for you but may be over diagnosed. I never tell the other doctor what I was diagnosed with because they tend to follow the leader. Start fresh and let them diagnose fully by themselves. I would recommend going to a primary care physician first and make sure that your BP, cholesterol, and thyroid function are within normal range. (My thyroid tumor started at 17, this is why they never tested my blood.) (I would recommend to anyone to get your blood tested before ever being put on any of the mental medication, most good doctors would require this first anyway.)
