Was i wrong to make my cousin my maid of honor?
Your Maid of Honour doesn’t *have* to throw you a bachelorette or bridal shower. She doesn’t *have* to help you prepare for the wedding other than providing mental/emotional support. When it comes down to it, who do you want standing next to you on the big day? My MOH is over 1000 miles away and won’t be able to help me with anything. I’ll see her for the first time in over a year the day before my wedding (at the rehearsal). I simply want my best friend standing next to me to share in the wonderful occasion in which I bind my life to my fiance. Other bridesmaids might be willing to step in and help with the things you mentioned if you feel you need the help. What it really comes down to is what YOU feel being Maid of Honour entails. If, in your mind, it is the person that helps you the most in wedding preparation, then maybe redesignating your Maid of Honour is in your best interest.
