No. He had OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder, which, because of his money he was able to indulge to a ridiculous degree. So his eccentricity wasn’t that mysterious. As for genius, he was flat out the smartest, hard working, inventive and business minded genius of his time and has had few equals in history.
