Was Hitler mentally ill or had a personality disorder?

0

The whole question of insanity/disease is an attempt to sell the Third Reich as the result of a diseased mind. To, in some desperate way, ameliorate the whole history as being the product of one man’s illness offers humankind some kind of sop, a protection to the global psyche – “Humans cannot be that bad, somebody must be ill”. Leaving aside the fact that it is not possible to accurately diagnose someone who is dead and whose body has been burned, any diagnosis is based on the records of Hitler’s personal doctor, nearly all the writers/experts who claim this or that illness admit that their diagnoses are not wholly provable. To push all the excesses of Nazi Germany onto one personality ignores the realities.
