Was Hitachi a good brand in the 70s?
They were pretty good consumer products. They were also fairly good professional products. Although, like anything else, there is good, and then there is better. I worked at one TV station that used Hitachi cameras in studio production for locally produced TV commercials. Ikegami’s were much better (and a LOT more expensive), but the Hitachi’s were perfectly adequate for our needs.
