Was “Grizzly Man” a certifiable nut job?

I saw this movie last night for the first time, Yeah, He was a nut job! I have had many bear encounters and seven grizzly encounters. This is Montana not Disneyland. I have had enough close encounters that I don’t go unarmed in the mountains anymore. As crazy as that fruitcake Treadwell was I did have a small amount of pity (or sympathy) for him in a pathetic kind of way after seeing the movie. I think he was a cross between psychotic and a lost soul. I think he was secretly suicidal and when he couldn’t do it with the drugs and alcohol and other self destructive behavior as he admitted, chose the bears to finish the job. It’s just too bad he took his girlfriend and a couple of bears with him when he died. He would be an interesting psychological case study for sure.
