Was Gossip Girl star (aka Blair Waldorf) Leighton Meester really born in a federal prison? Rumor has it that Leighton was born while her mother was serving a prison sentence in Texas. Technically, she was born in a halfway house affiliated with the prison, but was taken away when her mother was ordered to return to her cell three months later, according to Star magazine. The Gossip Girl star’s mother was allegedly investigated for heading up a $250 million-a-year drug-smuggling operation.
