Was FDR an anti-semite?
So long as you place a disclaimer on Y!A as a source and claim it was used as a survey poll it should be OK. Yes FDR was antisemitic in my opinion. Historians are split on the issue. Some site his preference for appointing Jews to high Gov’t positions as evidence he was not prejudiced but he appointed some people who were strong antisemites too. Robert Michael takes the view that FDR’s failure to end the antirefugee policies and his comments at the Casablanca Conference in 1943 indicate he was strongly antisemitic. He counts the fact that FDR was well informed of the attrocities being comitted by the Nazis and still not acting as especially telling.
