In fact, Errol Leslie Thomson Flynn was born on June 20, 1909, in Hobart in the Australian island state of Tasmania. He died on October 14, 1959, in Vancouver, Canada, and is buried in the Garden of Everlasting Peace at Forest Lawn, Glendale, California, USA. (Another international screen star of the time, Merle Oberon, has also been said to have been born in Tasmania.) Errol Flynn first appeared in film in the Australian movie In the Wake of the Bounty (1933).
