Was Elvis Presley a Christian?
He was Christian, but actually he studied many faiths. His thought was that he didn’t want to be kept out of Heaven on a technicality. So he wore a cross, he wore a Star of David and I think one other religious symbol. I don’t know where these stories are that say he turned away from God, but that’s an out and out lie. God and religion was a big part of Elvis’ life. I mean, his favorite book, next to the Bible, was “The Impersonal Life”. He liked this book so much, that he would give copies out to people so they could read it and enjoy it as much as he did. Another favorite was “The Prophet”. Many people hear Elvis’ gospel songs, but don’t realize just how important that is to Elvis. His favorite thing to do after a concert, was to go with friends, family and band members and sing gospel songs until 4, 5, or 6 in the morning.
