BOYNTON BEACH (CBS4) ― A Boynton Beach woman was apparently trying to rush the ’til death do us part’ part of her wedding vows; she was arrested Tuesday for allegedly hiring a hit man to kill her husband of six months. It turns out the hit man was an undercover police officer, her husband is fine and a police video camera was rolling when investigators staged the crime scene and told the newlywed her husband was dead. Boynton Beach police said last Friday they received a tip from a confidential informant that Dalia Dippolito, 26, was allegedly looking for someone to kill her 38-year-old husband Michael. Investigators arranged for their confidential informant to meet with her the following day at a Mobil gas station on Gateway Boulevard to finalize the arrangements. A Boynton Beach newlywed has been arrested for allegedly hiring an undercover police officer to kill her husband of six months. Police say 26-year-old Dalia Dippolito gave an informant $1,200 for a handgun and offered $3,000 for the murder of her husband of six months, 38-year-old Michael Dippolito. She even suggested getting her hair done when the crime was committed for an alibi. Investigators played along on Wednesday. They called the would-be widow at the gym and covered her home in crime scene tape. The suspect immediately broke down in tears when a sergeant told her husband had died. It wasn’t until officers got Dalia Dippolito to the station that she learned he was alive and in the next room. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/florida/AP/story/1172817.html Lannis Waters, The Palm Beach Post / April 30, 2009 Dalia Dippolito, 26, sits in a police car after her arrest by Boynton Beach police for
Motive for wanting to kill her husband isn’t provided but Dalia Dippolito messed up big time when she tried to hire an undercover policeman to kill her husband. They had only been married for 6 months but Dippolito paid the “hitman” $1,200 for a gun and and additional $3,000 for the murder. The police played along and even convinced her that her husband was dead until she was in the police department and found out that he was alive in the next room.
