Was closing the Embassy in Yemen a good idea?

happened in Iran in 1979 when the Shah’s regime fell, and protestors took hostages at our embassy and kept them in captivity over a year. Incidentally, there was a democratic government in place in Iran when the CIA toppled it and we put the Shah in power in 1953. We are not totally innocent from meddling with politics in the Middle East (for oil?), and earn some of the distrust and anger they feel for us. Also, T.S. Lawrence of England promised self-rule to the Arabs that fought with him against the Turks in WWI, only to have them betrayed at the peace conference at Versailles after the western powers won the war. They dismantled the Ottoman Empire and carved it up between them. I believe Bin Laden has made reference to this more than once. They have long memories and nurse grudges for centuries. However, this current radical arm of Islam is a total distortion of the religion, and it’s time to hear more in a public way from moderate Muslims to discredit them. I think they do not do so
