I know he is a baby, but the kindest thing to do would be to put a twitch on his upper lip and that usually will calm the worst offender down. Then work as quickly as possible. Stop after a couple of minutes and remove the twitch and then rub his lip to get circulation going and do it again. Also have someone line him up against the stable wall and one at the side to push him into it and the other holding him at the front and the twitch. As he is small you should be able to keep him down long enough to do one ear. When it is done give him lots of fuss and praise and perhaps a polo mint. I have had to do 18.2 horses who have got themselves in a paddy. Imagine that and I am only 5 foot myself! Eventually some of them have had to be sedated and held for safety reasons but probably the vet would not do that just for clipping. Ones you have his ears clipped it would be a good thing to trim them regularly with hair dressing scissors and a comb to prevent so much growth that he needs them doi
