Was Bobby Kennedy pro life or pro choice on abortion?
Robert Kennedy’s stance on abortion is not officially documented, as Roe vs. Wade occured four years after his death. At the time of Kennedy’s death, most states did not have legalized abortions, though many were begining to legalize most procedures. Kennedy did say that he believed abortions should be allowed in some circumstances, which was a liberal position at the time. At the same time however, Kennedy was a devout Catholic, and his wife was and still is a pro-life advocate. When looking at his two most politically involved children, Kathleen and Robert Jr., we see a different story. Kathleen is strongly pro-choice, but Robert Jr. is pro-life. So by looking at the facts, we see that had Robert Kennedy had survived he would have been most likely pro-life, though not an extremist.
