Was AVATAR a form of market global manipulation?
I think the marketing campaign for Avatar was “you have to experience this, there is nothing like it.” In that regard, there is nothing like it and there hasn’t been anything since. I have seen the real3D and it’s sub par compared to Avatar. We, as a people, were sold on the idea, there was something extraordinary about this movie, and the 3D experience was it. No one said Cameron was going to win an Oscar for best screenplay, because the story was dry, and predictable, in my opinion but the technology was out of this world. As far as a “global manipulator,” I think I would be worried about the 24-hour news media, the top billionaires meeting secretly every year, world bank, etc. Not to say I believe in that stuff, but there are better conspiracy theories to focus on that support the global manipulation argument better than Hollywood. Hope this clears up the confusion.
