Was anyone affected by the storm Sunday 4-15-07?
Didn’t really see much first-hand. This is what the Charlotte Observer reported: Tens of thousands of customers are without power and several school systems closed this morning, in the wake up Sundays stormy weather across the Carolinas. At least one person was killed in the stormy conditions. Forecasters say strong winds could add to the problems today. And its effects could cause problems for travelers planning to fly from Charlotte or other Carolinas airport to cities on the East Coast. The culprit is a powerful spring storm system which crossed the Southeast on Saturday and then became a noreaster as it moved up the Atlantic Coast. The system triggered severe thunderstorms and tornadoes late Saturday and Sunday. Then, as it began moving up the coast Sunday, the powerful winds around the deep and large storm system knocked down trees and power lines across the western Carolinas.
