Was an invisible sky daddy invented because people feared dying?

Call me crazy but I’m going to go with no on this one. I think an invisible sky daddy was invented because it was believable, and it felt rewarding and right to thank this daddy for all he provided. I wouldn’t say these people were lacking intelligence, not in the least, they were capable, built societies, homes, clothing, farmed, created art, fought wars, philosophised, studied the stars and the movement of the sun as well as the seasons. But then there was also magic, and spirits, and countless unexplainable mysteries. Back in the day people weren’t big into fearing death, as most of them believed you went on to some other realm, or became another thing, or returned again. Of course I could be making all this up.
