Was ambulance driver drinking before huge pile-up on A52?
AN ambulance driver responding to an emergency call in Derby has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a seven-vehicle pile-up on the A52. East Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed that the 39-year-old man arrested following the accident, on Saturday night, was the driver of the ambulance in the crash. Four people were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, after the collision, on the westbound carriageway near Bardills Island, at about 7.40pm. Three cars, a Ford Mondeo, an Audi A4 and a Toyota Avensis, two minibuses and a Ford Transit van were also involved.
