The availability of front AL drums, bearings, and brake parts can be a problem for cars it was designed for. I don’t think there was ever a bolt on AL front drum for 68-72 A bodies. It’s been questioned if there were not added issues with the AL drums. I would go with disks if not just because they work better wet and dry, because of parts availability and lower cost. I use a 69 system on my 68 to avoid the 4 piston calipers. They sound cool but not worth the extra cost and possible maintenance problems. I seen in a brake book I have it said full size Buicks, some Lincolns, and some imports had AL drums. It had pictures of old open wheeled race cars with tall narrow tires. The 68-69 Riviera had AL drums.
